How to read your affiliate analytics
The affiliate reports answer three questions: how much your affiliates sell and who sells most, whether their links turn into orders, and how much commission you owe and have paid. Open Analytics in the app menu and select Affiliate in the Referral | Affiliate switch above the report list. A store with an affiliate program and no referral campaign opens on these reports.
Pick a report
Section titled “Pick a report”| Report | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| Affiliate overview | How much do affiliates sell, and who sells most? |
| Affiliate clicks and conversion | Do affiliate links turn into sales? |
| Commission and payouts | What do you owe affiliates, and what have you paid? |
Pick a date range and Compare to the same way as on the referral reports. The Revenue basis, the Customize button and the Entry point, Device and Country filters don’t apply to affiliate reports.
What each report shows
Section titled “What each report shows”Affiliate overview shows Affiliate orders, Affiliate sales amount, Affiliate commission, Active affiliates and New affiliate sign-ups, with sales over time, Top affiliates and a breakdown by affiliate campaign. Affiliate sales amount is the amount commission is calculated on, after your exclusions, not the order total.
Affiliate clicks and conversion shows Affiliate link clicks, Orders per click and Affiliates with clicks, with clicks and orders over time and affiliates ranked by clicks. An order can follow a click from an earlier day, so Orders per click can go above 100%.
Commission and payouts shows Commission pending approval, Commission owed and Payouts, with commission by status (Pending, Approved, Paid), payouts by affiliate and commission approved over time. Commission pending approval and Commission owed are balances at the end of the last update, so the dates you pick don’t change them.
How fresh the numbers are
Section titled “How fresh the numbers are”Affiliate numbers update once a day, after 2 AM in your store’s time zone. The line under the report title says Affiliate data through and the date.
- A new program shows No affiliate data yet. Numbers appear the day after your first affiliate signs up.
- If the numbers are 2 days or more behind, a banner says when they were last updated, with Contact support.
- Clicks are counted per day from the day daily click tracking started. The click count on the Affiliates tab is an older lifetime counter, so the two numbers differ.
