Understanding your affiliate branding surfaces
An affiliate meets your programme in a different order than a customer does: they apply, they are approved, and then they live in the portal. Each of those steps is a surface you control.

| Surface | Who it reaches | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Registration form | Applicants | Your first impression, and the only place you screen partners before approving them |
| Portal style | Approved affiliates | A branded portal reads as a real partnership; a generic one reads as an afterthought |
| Portal guide | New affiliates | Briefs a partner on how to get their link and what they earn, without you in the room |
| Portal translations | Partners abroad | A dashboard someone cannot read is a dashboard they will not work |
There is also an on-store surface: the identifier bar shows shoppers arriving from an affiliate link that the recommendation was real.
Where to start
Section titled “Where to start”Build the registration form before you recruit — changing what you ask for after applications arrive leaves you with partners you never screened. Style the portal next, then write the guide. Translations only matter once you recruit across borders.
